You step outside and a cold breeze slaps your face, you look up and the sky is grey.

The leaves are falling and you realize, it’s the time of the year when we have to start thinking about staying warm and what’s the best fabric for the job? Wool. There are many items on the shelves that look like wool because the fibers are knitted, but are they really made of wool? We went ahead and compiled a quick cheat sheet to help you know your wools.

It makes sense to start with the basics. What is wool? It is a natural fiber that is harvested from animals. Different wools come from different animals. Basically, the animal is shaved, the hair is treated and spun into fibers that are then woven into a fabric. The quality of the fibers is based on the length of the fibers.
